He left me with so many happy memories. He always had a kind word and a joke to tell. I spent many a happy hour in his company along with my Dad, George who was his brother, hunting, shooting and fishing. It was always a special day on Boxing Day when we all used to go shooting in Snowbury, the local wood to Cotesbach. A tot of whisky and a mince pie at the hall when we'd finished always went down well.
His popularity spoke for itself on the day of his funeral with so many people there from far and wide. I am proud to be a Towers and to have had an uncle like Sam.
God bless him xxAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25873299.post-1166732787982847062006-12-21T20:26:00.000+00:002006-12-21T20:26:00.000+00:00Dear Oliver, what a pleasure to read your poem abo...Dear Oliver, what a pleasure to read your poem about Sam Towers and also a pleasant surprise to find my dad on the www. We were so proud and so pleased to see so many at his funeral - he would have loved it - we were sorry that we didn't get a chance to talk to everyone - yourself included. I am so proud to know that he touched the hearts and minds of so many, he was never interested in the material things in life but his ability to bring a smile to so many faces was a wonderful legacy for us.linkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08630165464338526348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25873299.post-1166732751982812442006-12-21T20:25:00.000+00:002006-12-21T20:25:00.000+00:00Dear Oliver, what a pleasure to read your poem abo...Dear Oliver, what a pleasure to read your poem about Sam Towers and also a pleasant surprise to find my dad on the www.
